1.First Charge New DR31 Lithium Ion laptop battery
On the first charge, your DR31 battery may indicate that charging is complete after a short period of around 15 mins. This is to be expected - simply remove the COMPAQ DR31 Battery from the laptop and repeat the charging procedure.
Your new DR31 battery may require 4 to 5 charge/discharge cycles to reach its maximum capacity.
When you get a new the rechargeable DR31 laptop battery , charge it until it is fully charged. Then, let your laptop run, without being plugged in, to use all of the charge in the battery. Once the battery is dead, charge it again.
2.Make sure to fully discharge and charge you laptop battery at least once every two weeks for maximum performance and long life.
3.Prevent the battery Memory Effect - Keep the laptop battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries which do not suffer from the memory effect.
3.Do not leave your battery unused for long periods of time. It will damage your battery if it is left unused for over 2 to 3 months.
